CallReply

Restaurants and caterers

During service, bookings no longer ring out unanswered

At lunch and dinner, nobody has time to pick up between sending plates and taking payments. CallReply answers missed calls by text, from the restaurant's own number.

What changes during service

Evening bookings. During the rush, every call gets a text and bookings arrive in writing.

Service without interruptions

In the kitchen and on the floor, the team stays on the plates. The guest who wanted a table gets a message instead of endless ringing.

Bookings in writing

The guest replies by text with the number of covers and the time. You confirm once the rush eases.

Service calls in a list

After the rush, the history shows each missed call with its time. You call back those who did not reply to the text.

Get the floor and kitchen ready

  1. 01 Install the Android app On the restaurant phone, the one whose number is on your menu and online.
  2. 02 Write your message Restaurant name, an invitation to book by text with covers and time.
  3. 03 Exclude your suppliers Greengrocer, butcher, delivery riders: add them to the STOP list.

What message suits a restaurant?

A short, practical text: the name of the place, the fact that the team is in service, and an invitation to reply with date, time and number of guests. Do not promise a table: you confirm after reading. On closing days, set them as days off: the caller then receives your closing message, which can point to your booking link.

What about caterers?

A caterer is often out on a delivery or preparing an event. The text lets the customer describe the request in writing: date, number of guests, type of service. You keep a record in your messages and in the CallReply history, and call back with a quote in mind. Manual reply from the history is still there for one particular call.

Which businesses is it for?

Traditional restaurants, bistros, pizzerias and brasseries where the phone rings mostly during service hours. With a small team, every missed call is a table that may go elsewhere. The text keeps the conversation open until you can answer.

Caterers, food trucks and takeaway restaurants. Between cooking, deliveries and events, the phone often stays in the apron pocket. The customer gets an immediate reply and can detail the order in writing.

Good to know

A reply, not marketing

Answering a guest who just called is an informational exchange. If you add the daily menu or an offer, the message becomes commercial: prior consent and a free opt-out (STOP) apply under CNIL rules.

The STOP list

Numbers on the STOP list never receive a text: suppliers, delivery riders, staff. Also add any guest who no longer wants messages.

Your data

Hosted in France, with a retention period for each kind of data. After that, history keeps dates and statuses but not numbers. Export and erasure under My data.

Hidden numbers

A guest calling from a withheld number cannot receive a text. The call is simply listed in the history.

Frequently asked questions

Is the text sent when the restaurant is closed?

Set your closing days as days off (every Monday, annual leave, bank holidays): calls missed on those days receive a closing message giving your next opening day. The rest of the time, your usual message goes out.

On a busy night, how many texts go out?

One per number per day, within the daily cap you set, with a minimum spacing between two sends.

Can I use a voicemail?

CallReply voicemail and call forwarding are being rolled out progressively, only where available. The app shows whether they are offered for your country and carrier.

The phone is behind the counter, does it work?

Yes, even locked or asleep. Remember to exclude the app from battery optimisation.
