Every missed call gets a text back, from your own number

When you cannot pick up, CallReply sends an automatic SMS reply to the caller from your own number. They know their call was seen and when you will get back to them.

Call back: Mrs Lewis at lunch

What changes for you

Today's replies. Every missed call gets its reply from your own number, even with the phone locked.

No call left hanging

Every missed or rejected call triggers a reply, even when you are with a client or driving. You no longer have to remember who called during the day.

Call rejected · Reply sent

Your number, your SIM

The text leaves your phone as an ordinary message. Callers recognise the sender and can reply directly, with no new line and no switchboard.

Ordinary SMS

A reply right away

The message goes out shortly after the call ends, even with the phone locked or asleep. Callers do not need to try three times to know you are there.

Sent while locked

Built-in guardrails

One text per number per day, a daily cap and a minimum gap between two sends. You stay in control of the volume and of your STOP list.

1 text / number / day · STOP list respected

How it works

  1. 01 Install the Android app Download the APK from callreply.fr and grant the requested permissions. Android 8.0 or later is required.
  2. 02 Choose which calls count Missed calls, rejected calls, or both. You decide what triggers a text.
  3. 03 Write your message One message in French, one in English, with the contact's first name when known. The preview shows how many SMS segments it uses.
  4. 04 Let CallReply do the rest The app reads the call log and sends the reply. Everything is logged in the history, on the phone and in your web space.

What if the phone was switched off?

CallReply keeps a resume point. When the phone restarts, the app reads the call log from that point and handles the calls missed in the meantime, following the same rules: one text per number per day, daily cap, STOP list. There is nothing to restart by hand. On some brands such as Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo or Huawei, you need to exclude the app from battery optimisation; the built-in setup guide shows you where that setting is.

Why a text rather than voicemail?

Few people listen to a voicemail greeting to the end, and even fewer leave a message. A text lands on the caller's screen, takes seconds to read and stays in their conversation. They can reply to explain what they need, and you see that reply in your usual messaging app. For you, it means a better prepared call back: you often know why the customer called before you even dial their number.

Who is it for?

For freelancers and small teams who work with their hands or face to face with clients: tradespeople on site, practitioners in a session, sales reps in meetings, owners alone behind the counter. They cannot answer every ring, yet every call might be a customer. The automatic reply acts as a simple SMS answering service, with no hire and no extra phone contract.

For people who already use an Android work phone and do not want to change number. CallReply installs on the existing device, uses the existing SIM and adds no hardware. If you work on an iPhone, things work differently, because iOS does not let any app read the call log or send a text on its own: the iPhone page explains what is possible.

Good to know

A reply, not marketing

Answering someone who has just called you is not cold prospecting: it follows up a contact they started. Keep the message informational, saying who you are and when you will call back. If you add a commercial offer, marketing rules apply (prior consent, a free way to opt out): check the guidance of the French data protection authority, the CNIL.

The STOP list

Some numbers should never get a text: family, suppliers, people who asked not to. Add them to the STOP list from the phone or the web space. CallReply will never send them anything, and the history shows not sent: STOP.

Your data

Data is hosted in France. Each kind of data has a retention period set out in the privacy policy; after that, the history keeps dates and statuses but no longer the numbers. Texts leave from your phone, not through a third party. Export and erasure can be requested from My data.

Hidden numbers

A call from a withheld number leaves no number to reply to, so CallReply cannot send a text in that case. The call still appears in the history, so you know it happened.

Frequently asked questions

Can the customer tell the text is automatic?

They receive an ordinary text sent from your number. Nothing points to a third-party tool. What matters is the content: introduce yourself and say when you will call back, as you would yourself.

If the same person calls five times, do they get five texts?

No. CallReply sends at most one text per number per day. Later calls are listed in the history marked already answered today, with no new send.

Can I limit sending to certain hours?

Yes. Choose scheduled mode and the sending time, in 5-minute steps: calls missed since the previous send get their text at that time, except numbers you called back in between. Days off (weekends, holidays) have their own message. The daily cap, the gap between sends and the STOP list still apply.

Do I need a subscription?

Yes, the automatic reply is part of the CallReply subscription, monthly or yearly, cancellable from the app. A free trial of 3 days is offered. Manual reply from the history stays free, even without a subscription.
